1. There were three main etiologies of ptosis in this case: wind phlegm invading the collaterals, blood stasis and retardation of the sinews and collaterals.
2. For the care of this case, the blood sugar levels should be monitored to be sure that they are within normal range. A hot compress to improve blood circulation can also be applied over the eyes. Close attention should be paid to any abnormal pupillary light reflex and eyeball movement, in which case a CT, MRI or other related tests should be considered.
